Newcastle have increased their bid for the Paris St Germain defender and it is now up to the player, who allegedly in Germany talking to Borussia Dortmund today.

The 26-year-old Czech international has been in the Magpies' sights for several weeks, and the club offered £2million weeks ago.


That offer was rejected amid interest from German side Borussia Dortmund, but it is understood Newcastle is still the side the player would like to play for.

PSG chairman Alain Cayzac hinted earlier this week that Dortmund had edged ahead in the race to sign Rozehnal, but this could change it all.

33-year-old Liverpool stalwart Sami Hyypia is the player who Allardyce will try and tempt away from Liverpool if he fails again.

The Finland international had a trial at St James' as a teenager under former boss Kevin Keegan, who didn't think he was good enough at the time.

Hyypia, who made 29 appearances last season but saw Jamie Carragher and Daniel Agger establish themselves as Rafael Benitez' first-choice central pairing, has reportedly rejected a move to Fulham.
