The 26-year-old is expected to arrive in 'Sheep Worrying Swansea' tomorrow for a medical before signing a three-year contract.

The former England Under-21 international will be joined by Middlesbrough striker, Leroy Lita, who is also due to have a medical before completing his transfer.

The capture of Routledge is a major boost for Swans boss Brendan Rodgers who has conned the former Spurs winger into believing the Swans have a future in the Premiership.

Routledge broke into the Crystal Palace side at 17 before an initial £1.25m deal to Tottenham Hotspur in 2005. He never made the grade at White Hart Lane and went on loan spells at Portsmouth and Fulham.

He then joined Aston Villa in another £1.25m move, which included a loan spell at Cardiff, before joining QPR and then Newcastle on a three-and-a-half-year deal in January 2010.

He returned to QPR on loan for the second-half of last season to help the Hoops clinch the Championship title.
