The former Newcastle boss takes over from Peter Grant, who parted company with the Coca-Cola Championship strugglers on October 9 following a shocking run of results.

Roeder, 51, has signed a two-and-a-half-year contract.

After relegating West Ham and Watford - and leaving Gillingham when they were 92nd in the league - we can say we were VERY LUCKY he walked out of St James' Park when he did.

Norwich head into Sunday's East Anglia derby with Ipswich at Carrow Road sitting bottom of the table with just two wins and eight points from 13 games.
