Roeder Puts His Job On The Line

... the defender has contributed to the sacking of TWO Newcastle managers already. Will Roeder be the third?

Bramble has spent four seasons at Newcastle showing he is the joker in the pack, but Roeder is prepared to put his future on the line and try and get something out of the player that Sir Bobby Robson and Graeme Souness couldn't.

His lapses in concentration are legend on Tyneside. The man CANNOT go 90 minutes without wandering into the "land of grey and pink". Even though he went 89 minutes in the zone, he almost gave Pompey a gift on Wednesday night when he went to play a ball out wide - under no pressure at all - and hit the ball off Babayaro's back!

Roeder: "Titus had his best game of the season against Portsmouth. No-one could criticise Titus for his performance on Wednesday night.

"I was pleased for him and the boys were pleased for him as well. He's very well liked in the dressing room. They get disappointed when Titus is criticised in the media, like they do if any of their team-mates are criticised.

"The team spirit at the club is first class. We are a really tight and well-bonded squad."

Ipswich Town are said to be ready to offer £500,000 for Bramble during the transfer window in January. They received £5m for him when Sir Bobby bought him in 2002.
