Roeder Not A Miracle Worker!

You often find a sudden change of fortune when a new manager arrives, but Roeder and Toon old boy Lee Clark look to have a difficult task ahead of them keeping Norwich in the Championship.

Watford bounced straight back from Saturday's home defeat to West Brom with a comfortable win at Carrow Road to leave Roeder's Norwich rooted to the foot of the table.

Darius Henderson converted Lloyd Doyley's 36th-minute cross from close range for his eighth goal of the season before Hornets defender Adrian Mariappa's header went in off City goalkeeper David Marshall after rebounding back off the post just before the interval.

After seeing his side outclassed in the first half new Norwich boss Glenn Roeder threw on Lee Croft and Chris Martin for John Hartson and Jimmy Smith soon after the break, and the double substitution sparked a mini-revival.

Jamie Cureton fired over a fine cross in the 65th minute and Croft steered the ball right-footed into the bottom corner.

But after the home side briefly rallied, Marlon King converted his ninth goal of the season to make it six wins for Watford in their last seven league games.
