The Newcastle manager insists will not allow fear to creep into his bid for UEFA Cup glory.

Roeder: "We do not fear anything, I do not see why there is anything to fear. I have always found fear to be a useless emotion. I can never understand why human beings suffer from it.

"It is a game of football. We will attack the game as we did in the first leg. We are not a team which will drop deep and allow AZ to have easy possession because if we allow them to do that, we will build their confidence.

"We will press the ball and try to break up their passing and movement, which is very, very good. We will not underestimate the capabilities of the AZ players. We will respect them, but we are certainly not fearful."
