Motherwell played Champions League qualifiers Dinamo Bucharest in Austria.

Well lost 3-1 but recovered from conceding two goals in the first six minutes.

McGhee: "I am delighted with the way things are going in general and the game was excellent.

"We went two goals down early on as the guys tried to get to grips with the system they were playing.

"There is no disgrace in losing to this team either as they are a good Champions League team.

"When the boys got to grips with the system they effectively won the game on performance and some of our play was encouraging with four or five of them putting in excellent performances.

"Ross McCormack was the best player on the park and remember this was at Champions League standard and he really looked the part last night."

McGhee will be remembered on Tyneside for his 'never say die' attitude, and I will never forget a match at Ewood Park when he partnered "Who ate all the pies" Micky Quinn.

McGhee played two lovely through balls for the fat fella to chase, but Quinn was into the "stick it on my toe-end" style of play, conserving his energy for the kebab shop after the match.

When the third superb pass was met with Quinn throwing his arms in the air with a look of disgust, McGhee ran over and lifted the Pie Man off the ground by his shirt collar.

When the FOURTH pass was played through ... Quinn ran!
