Robson's Dyer War

Last updated : 18 August 2004 By Tom Carr
Kieron Dyer has apparently had a fall-out with Sir Bobby over his position. He prefers to play in the centre but recently, Bobby has used him on the right wing.

Dyer is supposed to have said to Bobby;

'I'm sick of being messed around'
'You've messed up my England career. You're to blame.'

His so called friend has said;

'If he can't play there (in the centre)
, he won't play at all and that's what he has told Bobby'

If the story is true, I think that Dyer's time to leave has come. Foe what we get out of him, he is over-paid and often over-rated. If I played for an excellent club like Newcastle United and earned the sort of money he does, I would play where ever the manager put me and play my heart out every week. I would play any where to show to Sven that I was adaptable and I would try to be consistent. Dyer doesn't do this and that is why he isn't in the England team. He has messed up his England career and now he has messsed up his Newcastle career.

I also think that if Bobby has lost the respect of the players, it is his time to go as well, otherwise things will just get worse. This needs to be sorted out as soon as possible.

If the story isn't true, or the press have exaggerated it, then Dyer needs to prove to us that he will play anywhere and try to win the fans back by delivering some breath taking performances.

I hope that if Dyer stays, he uses this as a kick up the backside and remembers how to play football and keep fit.
