The Frenchman’s availability comes as a major boost to Sir Bobby as Alan Shearer, Gary Speed and Andy O’Brien will all be missing against Birmingham and Craig Bellamy joining the absentee list at West Brom.
"Laurent Robert is back and that's a boost for us," Sir Bobby told the Sunday Sun.
"He's always good at home - he's quick, and he gives us some penetration down the left side.
"He gets the ball into the box, he's always good on free-kicks and he's got a great cross.
"We've missed him. We moan about him when he's around but we miss him when he's not!"
