Adam Armstrong is set to depart Newcastle United on loan - again.

He was one of the best players in League One during the 2015-16 season, scoring 20 goals in 40 appearances for Coventry City.

Instead, the England youth international was sent out to the Tykes to get regular football, where he scored six times in 21 matches.

Now, the newly-promoted Premier League side will farm out the England Under-20 international after he picked up a World Cup winners medal following the tournament this month.

The Chronicle reports he is expected to be sent out to an EFL club as Benitez attempts to slim down a 34 man squad in time for July 3.

Just like last summer, there are a number of clubs interested in taking Armstrong on loan.

Benitez held talks with Armstrong last summer with the Academy product indicating he’d be willing to stay and fight for his place.

But the decision was taken to send him on loan to the Tykes.
