Quinn: 'Ashley Has The Club In A Shambles'!

Mick Quinn told the Chronicle: "It's a complete and utter shambles.

"I think that Mike Ashley has been unprofessional in every sense and I can understand how the fans feel. When they wake up and see headlines like that it has to hurt them.

"I don't care what anyone says about the players, they come and go at clubs, but it's the fans who have to stay and take all the c**p.

"Newcastle fans have had enough stick this season after being relegated.

"Ashley is still the owner and at the moment he isn't conducting his business properly. You can't go round selling Newcastle United on the internet.

"It's an awful mess and I can't understand why there is no manager in place, not least a manager in Alan Shearer who can get bums on seats.

"Basically, by not appointing Shearer, Ashley is devaluing his own club.

"Alan couldn't be judged on the eight games he was in charge, there was nothing else he could have done.

"The best chance of being promoted next season is under Al.

"What are the choices otherwise?

"Chris Hughton? He didn't have the best of times last season in two spells and won one game - Al is the only candidate."
