Afterwards Watford boss Ray Lewington told the club’s official website: "Michael came off with cramp, although he did get a knock. We hope that’s not too serious but, for him, it was definitely a case of ‘welcome to the first division’.
"Some of his movement off the ball was quality, but he will have to adjust his game slightly to cope with the different demands of this division."
