Questions Over Emre's Commitment To Newcastle?

He wants to be away ... OK ... but he is still under contract to Newcastle United, and he is winning no fans with his current attitude.

He was fit enough to play for his beloved country this week, and indeed played a staring role in Turkey's 3-0 win over Hungary, making two of the goals.

But suddenly he is injured and will not play a part in United's visit to Pride Park on Monday.

Sam Allardyce: "Emre came off in the game on Wednesday and has phoned to say he has picked up an injury.

"That's a big disappointment because we had only just got him fit before he went off to play for Turkey.

"He played against Barnsley and could not complete that game and was then unfit for Wigan.

"It's bitterly disappointing that he got injured for Turkey but there's nothing we can do about it."

Emre is wanted by clubs in Turkey, but no-one made any offer during the summer transfer window, so the earliest he can move is in January.

Somehow we get the feeling there will be a lot of "injuries" for the Turk between now and then. I'll put money on it that he already has the medical book out!
