Bob Moncur was deeply disappointed by the 2-1 loss at Scunthorpe on Tuesday, but he tried to keep the defeat in context.

Bob Moncur: “When you talk about playing smaller teams, the only thing smaller is the ground and perhaps the crowds.

“Scunthorpe are in that league on merit, as are Blackpool.

“We think of them as small, but team-wise they are doing well.

“I thought Blackpool were a decent side.

“You have to wait until you’ve played everybody in a given season before you decide whether they are good or bad."
