Premier League Clubs To Do Airport Searches?

The Mag today reports that Manchester United have now banned supporters from taking ipads and tablet devices into Old Trafford.

Ahead of the friendly with Valencia on Tuesday night, the Manchester club sent this email to fans:

“Supporters can’t bring large electronic devices (bigger than 15mm x 100mm) inside the stadium. For example, ipads and other tablet devices & laptops are now prohibited.

“Also please be aware that large bags, large cameras and liquids (with the exception of a small bottle of water with the top removed) are included in our list of prohibited items.”

Such action normally sparks a comment from the Premier League, who monitor these type of situations, and it could be possible the likes of Newcastle United could follow the lead.

What they allow into their stadiums is down to the individual club, but with airport check-ins now at such a high level because of terrorism, it is only a matter of time before sports venues toughen up.
