After failing to make an impact in the pro game with spells at Brighton, Portsmouth and West Brom ... you would have thought midfielder Jack Compton would have taken Newcastle's offer.

But he has decided to go and play for Falkirk instead.
He will pen an initial 18-month contract with the Scottish Premier League club next month, after signing a pre-contract agreement from non-league side Weston-super-Mare.
Jack Compton: "I had a lot of clubs looking at me, including Falkirk, Newcastle and Exeter.
"Falkirk offered me something so I grabbed it with two hands.
"They treated me so well when I came up for my trial, and the gaffer said I won't be up to sit in the reserves like I probably would at somewhere like Newcastle.
"You know you are going to get your opportunity to try and shine. I have just got to wait for that and grab it."
Did Newcastle REALLY try and sign him? No-one we spoke to at St James' Park had even HEARD of him!
