"All I know is there is a lot of responsibility on the manager's shoulders and certainly the level of exposure to speculation is always going to be there.
"Because of the fact that people up here are desperate for us to be successful - as we are ourselves, of course - there is always going to be an awful lot of exposure to that sort of pressure.
"Whoever takes the job on is coming into a difficult part of the season, a difficult scenario, but it is one that whoever it is has to be prepared for because expectations are high.
"The track record of previous managers suggests there has not been a lot of time.
"Hopefully the club will move into a period of stability. We hoped we were in that from the summer, but that wasn't to be, unfortunately."
