Wolves boss Dave Jones has turned to the veteran after the club failed to obtain a work permit for Cameroon international Carlos Kameni and his first choice shot stopper Matt Murray picked up an injury.

"Pavel is training with us at the moment so we can have a look at him,” Jones told the club’s official website.

"We need to strengthen the goalkeeping department following the loss of Carlos Kameni and with Matt (Murray) having picked up that injury last week."

Pavel spent eight years at St James’ Park, making 181 appearances and becoming a fans’ hero before moving on to Sheffield Wednesday and then on to Italy with Brescia and Cosenza.
