Newcastle United have been told there is nothing they can do about Scott Parker's red card against Fulham on Saturday and he will certainly miss Sunday's game with Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park. Claus Jensen's claim that the United midfielder did not touch him, but Parker has admitted he did make contact with his former Charlton colleague.
Graeme Souness will now make his Rovers return without midfielders Kieron Dyer, Emre, Albert Luque and Parker, with Nobby Solano's chances considered slim.
Souness will have to go with Lee Bowyer, Amady Faye, Lee Clark and Charles N'Zogbia in the middle of the park..
The only good news on the injury front is that Steven Taylor should be OK after the England Under-21 international was forced to go off against Fulham at the interval with a dead leg after colliding with a goal post.
