Alan Pardew: "It just shows the spirit in the group and the character that we have.

"We're feeling confident and we played very, very well today against one of the top teams.

"We walked off slightly disappointed that we hadn't won it. We had a couple of great chances towards the end.

"You don't want to hold on, you want to win in those situations. Both teams, to be fair, wanted to try and win and that makes for great entertainment.

"But we'll settle for the draw and we're still unbeaten. We're having a great period and we'll take it to the next game.

"I think we're going to be a dangerous side against the top teams and against everybody else.

"We've got players on the bench who can change the game and the same with Tottenham.

"They made a big difference. That's what you need at this level."

"I thought at the start of the game we struggled and then got a foothold in the game.

"The goal was disappointing really because I thought we were beginning to feel our way into the game.

"Our reaction was great, we got a goal at a good time."
