Supporters protested at the Emirates Stadium and, while Alan Pardew can accept the criticism, he is hoping to reward fans with victory over bottom club Cardiff City at St James' Park on Saturday.
Alan Pardew: "I've lost six on the trot as manager of Newcastle, so you have to accept that.
"I know they are disappointed and angry at the moment that we haven't got a result.
"I think the bigger picture is we're in a good position in the summer and we need to focus on finishing in the top 10.
"We need to win on Saturday. That's put extra pressure on us, this little run, but the players have shown tonight that they're working hard enough and if we can get a break, and perhaps the opposition are not as good as they were tonight, we might have a chance.
"I think on Saturday we'll be really up for it and get a win.
"Of course I'm under pressure because it's a big club and they expect perhaps sometimes things we can't quite deliver, but we're trying our hardest.
"We're going to work hard this summer to make sure we've got a team next year that can make this city proud.
"It's no good just me focusing on Saturday's game, I've got to make sure the recruitment and everything else is right for the summer, so I'm looking at this job which is a long-term opportunity for myself, and that's what you have to focus on.
"You can't take your eye off the ball.
"The most important thing for us, right at this minute at this club, is hopefully to get the fans onside this Saturday, to come and back us and help the players get a win.
"I feel the players at the minute are playing under a lot of pressure, there's a lot of pressure on me and they can sense that too.
"Arsenal were on good form tonight, but it was a shame the first goal as I didn't think it was a foul to be honest.
"I thought the pass was over-hit, and it was something and nothing, so I'm surprised he gave it. But we should have done better defending it."
