Pardew is left with just three strikers Leon Best, Peter Lovenkrands and Nile Ranger and he wants all three to keep out of trouble.
19-year-old Ranger and 24-year-old Best will not fulfil their expected international commitments this week having been withdrawn from the England Under-20 squad and the Republic of Ireland senior set-up.
Best limped off with a tight hamstring at the end of Saturday's epic encounter, and while Ranger finished the game, both have been withdrawn as a precaution.
