Pardew Slams Rules ... But Is HE In The Wrong?

Newcastle chose to send Karl Darlow on loan

Jak Alnwick will be backed up by 17-year-old Freddie Woodman, son of goalkeeping coach Andy, who will sit on the bench at Arsenal.

Alan Pardew: “We have two fit professionals, and until you’re down to one you can’t call that emergency loan on.

“Freddie Woodman is one, even though he’s 17.

“Karl Darlow can’t be called back, so that rule is wrong.

"If every other club can have an emergency loan, and we can’t purely because we’ve got a player whose out on loan for a year doesn’t make sense.

“I think that is going to be looked at.”

Personally I am not so sure Pardew has a point. He chose to loan out Darlow, and there should have been a recall clause in the contract.

That is the fault of Newcastle ... not the FA.

Elliot is due back in the New Year, while Krul (ankle) should be fit by mid-January.
