Alan Pardew:  “It has been a good season but still with work to do.

“We’re a stable, mid-table side at the moment, but we’ve got six games to go and three of those, if you look on paper, are pretty tough.

"We want to finish well. As we sit today, it’s a good season for a newly promoted side, but only at the end of the season can you reflect.

“We want to move forward, there is a little bit of stuff going on at the moment in terms of building the squad for next season, but there are some players here who are playing for their futures and that is a good thing to have at this stage of the season.

“I’d like a win or another couple of points as quickly as possible and then we can start looking at players and what their situation is going to be at the end of the year.

"I’m not going to put out teams just to look at fringe players to see whether they are part of my plans for next season. I think it is important we finish well because of the momentum that brings going into the following season. I’m going to play my strongest side where I can.”
