Pancrate Inpresses Against Monkey Hangers!

By Nu Mad
Wednesday, 18th November 2009
Fabrice Pancrate could be Chris Hughton's next signing, after the Toon boss hinted that the trialist has done enough to earn himself a permanent contract.

NU

Newcastle United Reserves: Alnwick, Leadbitter, Tozer, Grieve, Folan, Pancrate (J Taylor 80), Donalson, LuaLua, Danquah (Adjei 61), Lovenkrands (Newton 89), Airey.

The United boss will continue to monitor the former Paris St Germain forward in training this week but Pancrate did his chances no harm with a solid 80 minute run-out in the 3-2 reserve team defeat of Hartlepool United last night.

He tired as the game wore on but played a part in United’s first two goals and generally looked lively on the right-hand side of midfield.

Hughton: “He did well. We really wanted to see him in a game so we gave him the opportunity this evening. He will be training with us for the next few days and that will give us a chance to have a real good look at him.

“We already have great quality on the right-hand side with Ryan Taylor, Jonas and Danny Guthrie but he could offer us something different with his pace.

“His biggest asset is his experience – he’s played in a couple of positions, is good on the ball, works hard and I enjoyed watching him tonight.”
