Manchester United return to pre-season training on Monday with Michael Owen eager to prove his fitness ahead of the Reds’ opening day fixture against Newcastle.
Striker Owen will also be back in pre-season training after recovering from the torn hamstring he suffered in the Carling Cup final in February and faces a big challenge to make the starting line-up with the arrival of Mexican striker Javier Hernandez.
