Owen joined the Mancs after his Newcastle United contract expired, but he has not proved popular in terms of shirt sales, as one employee at the club's megastore revealed nobody had requested a Michael Owen shirt.The Sun: "We haven't got his number yet, which might have had an effect, [but] we are not expecting a big demand even when that is known.
"As far as I know, no one has asked for an Owen shirt.
"We print about 3,000 for Wayne Rooney but we'll be doing nowhere near that for Owen."
Owen used to play for Manchester United's arch-rivals Liverpool, which could have something to do with it.
For what it's worth ... I'm sure many Toon fans will glady give up their old Owen shirts if any Mancs out there fancy one.
