Nolan’s West Ham United contract was cancelled by mutual consent earlier this month, and the midfielder had been linked with a shock move to Sunderland.
However, the Black Cats have not made an offer to the 33-year-old.
As a free agent, Nolan could now join a club outside of the transfer window.
