Yes Nobby is the latest footballer to talk up his side’s chances of title glory in the tabloids as they struggle to fill their pages in the run up to the season.
At least the winger seems to be thinking like a winner and following the examples of Sir Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger by having a go at Chelsea.
He told The Sun: “I think we are probably the fittest team in the country.
“We have pace in the side that nobody else can match, and we certainly don’t fear Chelsea. It’s important to have money but all the money in the world doesn’t guarantee you a winning team. Look at Barcelona.
“You have to have the right players and right manager, and you have to show it on the pitch.”
Nice of Nobby to point it out, but there is probably no set of supporters in England more aware of the fact that big spending doesn’t guarantee success - apart from possibly Leeds United’s!
