"This season has proved that we can claim odd victories against the big teams," said the 27-year-old Peruvian winger.

"We can win games and entertain but we are still on a steep learning curve.

"Next season we can really challenge for the title but only if we can become more consistent. This season has been all about preparing for a sustained title challenge next time around.

"Everyone has performed above themselves this season but now we have set standards which must be bettered."
