The Peruvian winger has hit back at suggestions that we will be focusing on the Champions League clash with Feyenoord and instead insists that the players are well rested and raring to go after a six-day break.

"We have to take the three points and forget all about our Champions League ambitions," said Solano.

"We have been able to take a little bit of a break since we beat Dynamo Kiev on Tuesday night and we will all be ready for Middlesbrough.

"They are a different side to the one of two seasons ago. They now have a very good manager and they have bought some very good players in the summer.

"But, having said this, let’s not forget that Newcastle United are also a very good team and we want to be the best side in the north east."
