NO Toon Player Will Leave In January INCLUDING Owen!

With the African Cup of Nations to consider, Allardyce claimed he will have only 15 outfield players available to him (the figure is actually 16 if you include David Edgar) when his African players leave for international duty.

Three of those are the injured Stephen Carr, Michael Owen and Damien Duff and, as a result, he will not be selling anyone during the window.

"I do not have to sell to buy, we have no one to sell.

"We have four going to the African Nations, we have 19 outfield players in the first-team squad, that leaves us with 15 including Stephen Carr, Michael Owen and Damien Duff.

"I have no scope for moving players on.

"It depends on money being released, but it is about players being available before the money is released.

"That is the ultimate issue. Me and Chris (Mort) are working on that and those negotiations are confidential until a deal is cut.

"There will be huge speculation on who is coming in or (going) out and another one has popped up which is an utter load of rubbish, which is Michael Owen.

"I'm supposed to have been speaking to Sven-Göran Eriksson about him. No, I have not spoken to Sven.

"There has been no contact from Manchester City to our football club and no conversation between me and Sven."
