Glenn Roeder is hoping to sign Oguchi Onyewu on LOAN, just as he is in talks with Frederic Piquionne. But Saint-Etienne officials have made it simple for Freddy Shepherd to understand ... the 28-year-old will NOT be allowed to move on loan without a commitment to a £5m summer transfer.
No Money For Roeder!
As for the other Roeder target, Ryan Babel, the pressure finally got to Roeder when asked if he had money to spend on the Ajax player.
Roeder: "I hear we have offered £5m for Ryan Babal. Trust me ... that is pie-in-the-sky!
"I have tried to get Piquionne on loan but his club is reluctant to commit to a deal unless we arrange a permanent deal for the summer."
In other words ... no money for transfers.
