Pompey are organising the lessons for 16 of their players so they are not left baffled by boss Redknapp's Cockney phrases.

There have been problems in the past, and several players in Kevin Keegan's first managerial post told us the foreign players tended to have their own group.

Keegan said (last March) that he had made a point of making sure there were no splits in his camp.

A language school is probably a lot better than the days when Gazza was given the job of 'teaching' Bazilian international Mirandinha English.

For those who don't know the story ... the players were in London attending the FA Awards when Gazza was voted "Young Player Of The Year".

Mira asked Gazza how he should attract the attention of one of the young ladies who were distributing the wine.

Gazza told him, "Shout 'Hey ... Hairy Pie! Bring the plonk here!'"
