Ameobi – who is set to leave United in the summer – last scored a league goal in December 2012.
His only strike this season came in the club’s Capital One Cup win over Morecambe.
Shola Ameobi: “Loic’s a big player for us – our stats show that.
“When he’s not there, it takes goals away from the team.
“When you lose players like that, other players have to step up. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to do that (at Fulham).
“We created a chance just before they scored. On another day, it could have been 1-0 to us, and maybe the game’s different.”
