It furthermore lies about five kilometres from Kharkiv's Freedom Square and about the same distance from Shevchenko Park, which both lie more towards the north of the centre.

The metro is possibly the quickest way to get around and consists of three lines. Tickets are purchased at stations with the fare being 2 Hryvnia.

To get to the stadium from the city centre use the metro - either the red line to the Sportyvna stop, or the blue line to the Metrobudivnykiv im. H.I. Vashchenka stop. Both of these Metro stations are directly outside of the stadium.

The metro operates between 05:30 until midnight daily. There are no timetables as trains run at 1.5 minute intervals during rush hour, every five minutes during the day and every 20 minutes at night.

The stadium will be open to fans two hours before kick off. Newcastle supporters are advised to arrive well before the start of the match as ticket and security checks can take up to an hour to complete before admittance to the stadium.

A large police contingent will control entry to the away supporters' area. If you appear drunk you may be refused entry to the stadium.

All supporters will be searched prior to entry to stadium. Banned items are essentially the same as the UK. Coins will not be allowed into the stadium.

Alcohol is banned inside the stadium. At the end of the match it is likely that Newcastle supporters will be held back for approximately 15 to 20 minutes while home team supporters disperse. An announcement to this effect will be made in English during the match.
