No Burn Out For Taylor

The 21-year-old was thrilled to be handed an outing as a substitute in the England B team's 3-1 victory over Albania at Turf Moor last week. And while his team-mates start their holidays, Taylor is gearing up for England's challenge at the European Under-21 Championships in Holland.

Taylor: "I have not really got much of a break. I have got the Under-21 European Championships, so I have got about five more days off and then I am straight back into it again.

"For me, it is just keep going and going. But the more football I play, the better, so I am happy. You are playing against the best in Europe at under-21 level, so that will give me more experience and come the start of pre-season, I will hopefully be in shape.

"The number of games I have played, it has been great for me. The more games I play, the more confident I get. To get this call-up just topped the season off for me.

"It has been disappointing - we wanted to be in the top six with Newcastle, but it did not happen. We had a lot of setbacks with the injuries. But luckily enough, I got this call-up, which is a great feeling for me and a massive honour.

"Week in, week out, playing in the Premiership, playing at the top level and playing against players who are world-class does help you.

"Training with the likes of Michael Owen every day can only bring me on. This is a massive challenge. Playing against the foreigners in an international is a different ball game compared to the Premiership and what I am used to.
"It is a different challenge and I am loving every minute of it."
