Newcastle Through The Eyes Of An 8-Year-Old

Didier Drogba left United's cup dreams in tatters and everyone who headed for their transport home wanted a say

Our mate Tony Taylor said once again "I think I'm destined to go through life and never see us win anything". How many times have we heard that?

We got the train at Central Station and sat next to a bloke and his young son. The moaning continued, and feeling was one of huge disappointment. Then I asked the 8-year old what he thought about. Were we robbed? Is our team good enough? What disappointed HIM most about the night? Then came the reply:

"Did you notice, there was no Christmas decorations in St James' Park? Not a single one! I think Newcastle were great. But there should have been decorations".

Tony said afterwards: "That's the attitude I want! Never mind 20m in the transfer window ... get Christmas decorations and a black and white Santa at centre-forward!"
