Promoted Newcastle will play Northern Group A rivals Manchester United, Manchester City, Bolton Wanderers and Wigan Athletic home and away.
The winners of the two northern groups will play off to decide who plays the southern champions to take the league's overall crown.
Sunderland are in Northern Group B.
