Tony Mowbray: "We wish Joe a speedy recovery. We are all in this industry together and it can be a stressful job at times.

"Whether that had anything to do with it, I don't know but we hope he gets back to work as soon as he can.

"We shot ourselves in the foot today. I don't think Newcastle came and did anything special. All three goals were gifts for them.

"In the Premier League you can't defend like that otherwise you are not going to win any football matches.

"Generally over the last three weeks at home we have done okay defensively, clean sheets against Middlesbrough and Tottenham.

"But today, it wouldn't have mattered who we were playing against, if you defend like that, you can't win games.

"I've got no problems with the attacking side of our game. Generally I think we have sorted that side of our game out with the signings we have made.

"We have showed we can score goals with Jay Simpson and Marc-Antoine Fortune playing.

"I am interested in the poor quality of our defending. If you defend like that, you won't win many matches."
