We have Nobby Solano, Damien Duff, Charlie N'Zogia, Alan O'Brien (pictured), Kieron Dyer, and Uncle Tom Cobbley ... but Roeder says he was keen to add the Blues star to his squad ... until Jose Mourinho pit a spanner in the works and asked about a player in exchange.

Roeder asked to take the England international on loan, but considering Wright-Phillips is still very much part of the Chelsea first team squad, wasn't he pushing the boat out? Did he SERIOUSLY think it would happen? But then the "Special One" allegedly said he would take Obafemi Martins in part exchange.

Roeder: "You couldn't even buy Oba for £10million now. I wouldn't even take the phone call.

"There have been rumblings about Chelsea, but it's impossible. I am building a squad.

"I have enquired about one player and they said 'we'll let you have him, but we want that player'.

"So I had to say 'no, the player I want has to stay where he is'."
