Former Toon striker and Motherwell boss Mark McGhee admits he has Premiership ambitions ... but I'm sure he is NOT the man the fans want to replace Kevin Keegan.
McGhee was in the bookies' frame for the West Ham job before Gianfranco Zola was appointed and is still an outside bet for one of his old clubs as a player, Newcastle.McGhee's Ambitions Are Well Away From St James' Park!

McGhee: "I thought I was capable of going from Wolves to a Premiership club and I won't feel totally fulfilled as a manager unless I end up in that division one day.
"I want to test myself at the highest level and I don't mind being linked with the jobs at places like West Ham and Newcastle. It means the job I'm doing at Motherwell is being taken seriously elsewhere.
"I won't make a play for any job down south but I would one day like to be judged by performances."
