In both games in which United have had a player dismissed this season they have gone on to lose, and McClaren knows that being down to 10 men has affected their game play.
He expects to see improvement in terms of chance creation on Monday.
McClaren continued: “We haven’t shown ourselves in terms of attacking force, possession, creating chances yet.
“We have yet to see that and that’s what we will be looking for, definitely, over the next four or five games.”
