Michael Owen: "I am feeling good about my game. I am feeling quite sharp and am playing well and Newcastle are not overburdened with Europe.

"I can recover between games, prepare, keep myself in good shape and play on a regular basis for Newcastle but not too regularly. Hopefully that benefits Newcastle and the big one (the World Cup) at the end of the season.

"Hopefully that result will do a lot for confidence. We'll try to make as much of it as we can amongst ourselves. We'll gain a lot of confidence. But regardless of what happened against Argentina, and what happened in Ireland, we know where we stand. We know ourselves, Argentina, Brazil, Spain, Holland, Italy etc are amongst that pack who can challenge next summer.

"It doesn't take us to lose in (Northern) Ireland or to beat Argentina to know that. People get carried away either way but we have got a realisation in the team. No matter what happens, we will go there with a chance just like many others."
