“Obviously, against Orient it wasn’t exactly a fantastic result, but I think sometimes you can’t read too much into pre-season games, although it was disappointing.
“I’ve been involved in teams that have lost all their pre-season games, and went on to have a really good season, and vice-versa.
“As long as they learn from their mistakes, because when I saw the goals on TV, they weren’t exactly the best to concede.
“I’m just like everybody else – I want Newcastle to do well.
“You want it sorted out as quickly as possible. When you look at the rest of the teams, they’re buying here and there, and letting people go, so it needs to be done quickly.”
