Luque To Stay - He Won't Drop Wage Demands

Luque has not officially asked for a transfer, simply because he would lose a 10% cut in any deal if he moved away from Tyneside.

Instead he has had agents, his father, the bloke down the pub, and the milkman, express his desire to get away from St James' Park.

Let's face it - money rules his life - and sadly we're stuck with him until his contract runs out.

Yep, we've seen it all before. Remember Marcelino?

Barcelona born Albert arrived in 2005 from Deportivo La Caruna as a winger/striker with a big reutation in Spain.

Apparently Real Madrid were after him, and we've heard so much of that story since.

Injured just about as soon as he walked through the door, and home-sick after a few weeks. A waste of money!

Elena Sierra Marcelino cost £5m from Real Mallorca and was nothing but trouble from the day he signed.

Spanish international who came for the money, and nothing else.

The club even called in lawyers to try and get him kicked out of the club without paying him full wages.

A total waste of space ... and money! Went back to Spain.
