LuaLua makes Pompey loan move

It had been reported that the Congolese international was in talks with Leeds about a loan deal, although that eventually proved to be Steve Caldwell - if anyone can spot any physical similarities please let us know.

Pompey made a £1.5million bid for Andy Griffin and the occasionally brilliant, but usually totally ineffective LuaLua on Sunday, only to be told that Griffin wasn’t for sale.

It now seems though that they have signed their number one target, while they could land Griffin for nothing in the summer when his contract expires.

An annoying cockney told Portsmouth’s official website:
"LuaLua is a really exciting talent and we can have a good look at him until the end of the season.”

LuaLua is joined at Fratton Park by Leicester’s John Curtis taking Pompey’s number of transfer window signings to seven, while we have signed one player and let seven leave either permanently or on loan.

Meanwhile, rumoured Toon transfer target Ricardinho is reported to have signed for Middlesbrough.
