LuaLua adds to criticism

The forward told the Evening Chronicle: "The manager has to pick his team and it was fair enough that I was only a substitute.

"But I feel really hurt when I had to sit and watch certain players walking around the pitch instead of working hard for the team.

"I also feel hurt for our supporters having to watch certain players not even playing but just walking around.

"People who were at the match and those who saw it on television know who played well and who did not play well."

Whilst LuaLua is far from being my favourite player, he can’t ever be criticised for a lack of effort (lack of vision maybe), so his frustration is understandable.

Although Sir Bobby, Alan Shearer and LuaLua can hardly name the players they are talking about publicly, but I think it’s fair to say at least one of them is French.

Andy Griffin’s description of the performance is perhaps even more damning: "At the end of the day Wolves showed more desire than we did to win the game and this is very frustrating."

Going out of the FA Cup is never pleasant but it was the manner of the defeat that was particularly annoying. People at the club are obviously aware that the performances of some players are unacceptable, so it’s time to act whilst we have the opportunity.
