Liverpool Should Be Docked Points!

There have been suggestions that if Tom Hicks and George Gillett block a £300million the takeover then their holding company would be put into administration by the Royal Bank of Scotland over their unpaid £280million debts.

That would not lead to an automatic points deduction for the Reds!

But the Premier League say the penalty clause will not apply.

A Premier League: "The aim of the regulations is primarily to capture clubs who have gone into insolvency. This is manifestly not the case with Liverpool Football Club."

I wonder what Leeds Utd have to say about that?

Rules for the likes of Man Utd and Liverpool ... rules for the rest of us?

Let's not forget how the FA bent the rules for Man Utd when the club jetted off to play in a competition in Brazil and refused to play in the FA Cup one season, not so long ago.

The rules clearly state that any club refusing to play in the FA Cup MUST start the following season in the qualifying games of the competition.

That didn't happen, and FA issued a statement: "You cannot let MANCHESTER UNITED qualify for the FA Cup through the early stages."

And why is that exactly?
