Let's See How Bolton Survive Without Big Sam

Not only did Newcastle show the gulf between the two sides last Saturday in the biggest "men against boys" match for some time, but the Trotters were on the wrong end of another poor result last night at Craven Cottage.

However, Sammy Lee insisted his side's 2-1 defeat at Fulham was no cause for alarm, even though he has yet to win a match as Bolton's new manager. That now makes it four games.

The defeat left the Trotters still without a single point and with only Tottenham below them in the Premier League table.

Lee: "I'm not pleased about it, don't get me wrong, and I don't think any manager worth his salt would be pleased that we have had two defeats in two games, but managers have to take the positives because we have to pick the lads up afterwards - and they are a great set of lads.

"I don't want to sound glib about it as obviously it is a concern but I always look for positives, and I feel there is an awful lot for me to take out of this game tonight.

"Conceding two goals in quick succession would knock any team back but the way they reacted to that I thought was very creditable."
